I paint to create freshness and vibrancy, the way colors can hum against each other, portraying radiance in nature, to create the connection of all things and the possibilities that come from those
By exploring the concept of color and texture and their relation to the dynamics of place, including the manipulation of their effects, our assumptions of what “place” mean to us are delightfully skewed. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination. My paintings establish a link between the reality of landscape and the lush, verdant place imagined by its conceiver.
